James A. Aston, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Managing Director
Jim Aston is Chief Financial Officer of Island Capital Group and serves as one of the company's Executive Managing Directors. Mr. Aston, who joined Island Capital Group at the company’s inception, previously held the role of chief financial officer at Insignia Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: IFS), having joined the company in 1990.
Mr. Aston presided over more than $7 billion of financings during his tenure with Insignia and brings more than 20 years of experience in real estate, finance and accounting to
Island Capital Group. Prior to Insignia, Mr. Aston was a certified public accountant at predecessor firms of Ernst & Young for ten years, where his practice concentrated on real estate and securities offerings.
Mr. Aston received a Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors from Clemson University in 1975 where he majored in Accounting.
