Jeffrey Cohen is an Executive Managing Director and President of Island Capital, which he joined at its formation. Mr. Cohen was formerly an Executive Vice President of Insignia Financial Group, Inc., where he focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions, principal investment opportunities and Insignia's fund management activities. Mr. Cohen joined Insignia in April 1997 as a Senior Vice President. Prior to that time, Mr. Cohen was a corporate attorney with the New York City law firm of Rogers & Wells (now Clifford Chance), where he worked primarily on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and capital markets matters.

Mr. Cohen received a J.D. degree (magna cum laude) from Albany Law School in 1993 and received a B.A. degree from the University of Vermont in 1990, where he majored in Political Science, Economics and Statistics.
